My Body, My Nation – Israel Aloni
During their career as an independent choreographer and dance educator, Israel Aloni has developed a fluency in their own choreographic language.
A co-director of ilDance, an independent contemporary dance company based in Gothenburg, Sweden, Aloni has earned a reputation for crafting sincere and politically conscious work that draws from theatre and text to forge bonds with the audience’s emotions.
In ‘My Body, My Nation’, Aloni examines the idea of decolonisation through a singular body. This physical pursuit involves disconnecting from taught and imposed philosophies, with an eye to liberating the authentic self and creating a unique physical space for it.
